Assemblage of found objects
Steel parts of an old piano, with marbles. Set in concrete.
41 cm high, 24 cm diameter
(and very heavy!)
Dale Copeland
I dismantled an old piano. Beautifully made, with hundreds (thousands?) of screws.
And these steel supports which looked so like rejoicing humans.
To me they looked like a couple of adults rejoicing at the happiness of their children.
Concrete was all I could use to hold them upright and dancing.
Surrounded with glass marbles like bubbles in champagne.
Dale lives at Puniho in coastal Taranaki, Aotearoa/New Zealand.
